About Me

My name is Elizabeth Collingwood Jean-Francois, I am a wife and mother of two amazing boys! I am a Wellness & Lifestyle coach and meditation enthusiasts.
My mission is to educate and empower those on a health and wellness journey in need of some insight, guidance, and tips. Wellness Is A Lifestyle is a daily practice of caring for your physical, spiritual, emotional, social, intellectual, occupational, environmental, and financial wellness in order to achieve your full potential.
Throughout my childhood and early adult life, I was always active and did not have any health-related issues. However, this changed in August 2019 when I was diagnosed with Ocular Myasthenia Gravis by a neurologist. It is an autoimmune disease that causes weakness in the muscles. For me, it started in my eyes. I started having double vision, drooping eyelids and a wondering left eye. I thought I was losing my sight! I felt scared, alone, and frustrated. I tried medication and took it for over a year. The medication worked for about half of this time after finding the right dosage. I felt my body was rejecting the medication and it was not effective anymore. I did not want to believe that I would be on medication for the rest of my life. The medication just masked the symptom not solve the problem.
So I started researching what I could do to get to the root of the problem i.e. Anti-Inflammatory diet, taking probiotics, gut health supplement,s and yoga. I thought I had a handle on this disease (during the pandemic) however by the end of October 2020 I started feeling fatigued and experiencing muscle weakness in my arms ( I couldn't hold my hands up past my shoulders during an exercise) and knew the disease had progressed to Generalized Myasthenia Gravis, involving multiple muscle groups. I stopped taking the medication at this point because I believed it was causing more harm than good.
And now I began my holistic health and wellness lifestyle. I started intermittent fasting to reset and boost my immune system, using CBD tincture for its anti-inflammatory properties, taking a health supplement; sea moss which provides most of the vitamins and nutrients you need in a day, and daily meditation for overall well-being. Health is a journey, not a destination. I am healing every day and some days will be better than others.
My mindset has changed and so has my health for the better. Daily intentions and practices are how you can improve your overall health and wellness. Remember, Wellness is a lifestyle!
